Knowing the Unknowable

This 60 minute session was recorded as part of the National Adoption Conference on September 21, 2021. You may register to take this session as a stand-alone course for $10.  Once registered, you'll be redirected back to this page and you can click on the webinar title below to get started.

As adoption has evolved, there’s been little space for the Adoptee voice to inform practice and policy. Historical adoption paradigms have, at times, exerted oppressive tendencies on the Adoptee community that challenge its ability to find its voice and express its needs. Speaking on behalf of a post adoption department that employs three full-time Adoptee staff and works directly with hundreds of Adoptees each year, we explore the evolution of “positive” adoption language and discuss tools that allow us to identify and evaluate Adoptee empowered practice.

At this time, CEs are not available for this course. However, you will receive a training certificate upon completion of the course.
