When you bring a child from a hard place into your home, it affects every member of the family. In this prerecorded session from our 2020 Virtual National Adoption Conference, you will learn how siblings of children from hard places are impacted by adoption and foster care, how each member of the family affects each other, and how to create a more cohesive family using TBRI strategies.
Jana Hunsley is a graduate research assistant at the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development and is a PhD candidate in experimental psychology. The focus of her work is on the adoptive family system and how to best support the entire family using TBRI. In addition to her research, Jana trains parents, siblings, and families at Hope Connection 2.0, a therapeutic camp for adoptive families. Her interest in adoptive family work began when her family adopted 7 children internationally when she was a teenager. Prior to working at the Institute, Jana has worked as a post-adoption therapist and has supported children and adolescents who have experienced trauma in various other settings.
