Grandfamilies through Adoption - Working with Kinship Placements

This page is a description for a live webinar scheduled for September 2022. If you'd like to register for this webinar, please return to this page once registration opens.

Currently, there are about 2.6 million children in the U.S. who are being raised by family members other than their parents. An increasing number of kinship adoptions, are by the child’s grandparents. This unique type of adoption, comes with a unique set of benefits and complexities. For example, grandfamilies are often more connected to the adoptee’s birth family, and must navigate relationships and boundaries with birth parents. This webinar will provide adoption professionals with strategies for navigating these situations, as well as information on the dynamics of grandfamilies, and practical resources and post adoption supports.
